Ben Shipperd has extensive sports physiotherapy experience, working as team physiotherapist with elite sporting teams at the Collingwood FC (AFL & VFL) and Cricket Victoria (Second X1 and U17s), having previously been match day physiotherapist to the Tooradin-Dalmore Football Club (SEFNL) for 4 seasons.
Ben Shipperd has a special professional interest in both cricket and football injuries, including player rehabilitation and injury management. As a long term A-grade club cricketer, he has a love and passion for the game at all levels.
Ben Shipperd consults at both Physioworks Cranbourne and Pakenham clinics. He has completed his Level 1 + 2 Pilates training with Dance Medicine Australia, and is also certified to provide Dry Needling.
Physioworks Health Group Pakenham is registered to provide services for TAC clients; and Worksafe clients, assisting them to return to work. With extensive experience in Occupational Injury Management, Ben Shipperd plays a key role within Physioworks Health Group managing these clients with acute and/or chronic work related injuries.
Ben Shipperd completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours in 2009 at Monash University graduating with a high distinction average. He was awarded the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia prize awarded to the top student in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, the Achievement Award for outstanding leadership, initiative amongst peers & high academic achievement. Ben Shipperd’s thesis; “The Effect of Amino Acid supplementation in Exercise Performance in AFL Players”, was published in 2 journals, including Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise.
Ben Shipperd is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Sports Physiotherapy Australia and the AFL Physiotherapy Association.
