Ben Shipperd has extensive sports physiotherapy experience, working with elite sporting teams at Collingwood FC (AFL & VFL) and Cricket Victoria (Second X1 and U17s), having previously been match day physiotherapist to the Tooradin-Dalmore Football Club (SEFNL) for 4 seasons.
Ben Shipperd has a special professional interest in both cricket and football injuries, including player rehabilitation and injury management.
As a long term A-grade club cricketer, Ben now plays for the Pakenham Cricket Club. He has a love and passion for the game at all levels.
Ben Shipperd commenced full time practice as a Physiotherapist at Physioworks Health Group in 2010. Ben works at both the Cranbourne and Pakenham clinics instructing regular Pilates Classes at both clinics, after completing his Level 1 + 2 Pilates training with DMA. Ben is also certified to provide Dry Needling if required.
Ben Shipperd completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours in 2009 at Monash University graduating with a high distinction average. He was awarded the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia prize awarded to the top student in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, the Achievement Award for outstanding leadership, initiative amongst peers & high academic achievement. Ben Shipperd’s thesis; “The Effect of Amino Acid supplementation in Exercise Performance in AFL Players”, was published in 2 journals, including Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise.
Ben Shipperd is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), Sports Physiotherapy Australia and the AFL Physiotherapy Association.
