APA Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Matthew Lynagh has held a range of private and public clinical, hospital and local sport club assignments developing his health-care consulting expertise, and has extensive expertise as a sports physiotherapist within elite male and female sport.
Matthew Lynagh is the team physiotherapist for Cricket Victoria Under 18 and Under 15 Woman’s Cricket teams, position’s he has held for the last three seasons. Matthew is also the current team physiotherapist for the Open & Under 20 Victorian Women’s indoor cricket team and the Cricket Australia Men’s ID Team.
Matthew Lynagh is the current sports physiotherapist to the SEFNL Interleague teams – Seniors & Under 18’s – competing in the AFL Victoria Community Championships. Matthew has previously worked as a physiotherapist and sports trainer for the Hectorville FC (SAAF), Tooradin-Dalmore FC (SEFNL) and Collingwood FC (AFLW).
Matthew has completed a Level 1 & 2 Sports Trainers Certificate and also the Pilates Mat Level 1 Certificate. Matthew has also successfully completed the Function Movement System (FMS) Level 1 & Level 2 Certification, in order to administer the Functional Movement Screen.
Matthew Lynagh completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2011 at University of South Australia, followed by his Masters of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2013. He is fully recognised and titled by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) as a Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
Matthew’s strong focus on sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy developed from a keen interest as a track and road cycling participant; and also as a Touch Football participant. An avid, experienced world traveller, Matthew is fluent in Italian.
