Year on year, Physioworks Health Group has supported Tradies National Health Month, an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) awareness initiative, focussed on the importance of tradies health.

Every August since 2012, the APA campaign aims to raise awareness of the health care challenges, both physical and mental, facing our community of tradies.

The highly experienced physiotherapy team at Physioworks Health Group can assist tradies with their health care needs & workplace injuries. The Physioworks Health Group are accredited for WorkSafe assessments & treatments.

Our team can assist with treatment & management of a specific condition and/or those ongoing aches & pains, providing ongoing health care advice & treatment for tradies.

A recent survey* of tradies, from across Australia, has revealed the following challenges faced by trade professionals in the past year:

  • Over 90% of tradies experienced work-related injuries or pain in the past year, with 90% of these injuries caused or worsened by work.
  • 76% reported pain significantly impacts their quality of life.
  • 42% described their pain as severe, with some suffering for months or even years.
  • 87% medicate or self-medicate to manage their pain, with 30% resorting to drugs or alcohol.
  • 24% fear they will need to retire early due to stress on their bodies.

Physiotherapy can be transformative for tradies, addressing common persistent issues like back, knee, and shoulder pain that can significantly impact quality of life. Here’s how physiotherapy makes a difference:

  • Prevent injuries: Physiotherapists teach techniques to work safely and avoid common injuries.
  • Early intervention: Addressing pain early helps prevent chronic issues and long-term complications.
  • Enhance quality of life: By managing pain effectively, physiotherapy enables tradies to maintain their productivity and enjoy their daily activities.
  • Adapt with age:Physiotherapists help tradies adjust their work habits as their bodies age, reducing the risk of injury and prolonging their careers.

Nearly two-thirds of tradies who have seen a physiotherapist reported significant pain reduction or eradication.

So, if you are a tradie, it’s time to look after yourself. Be pain free and “stay on the tools”
