With the cricket season fast approaching, Physioworks Health Group are proud to continue our sponsorship of the Camberwell Magpies Cricket Academy.
The aim of the Academy is for the selected participants to be exposed to advanced skill acquisition from the experienced team of cricket coaches at CMCC; and industry leaders in relevant sport/life development.
This pre-season the Magpies Academy consisted of 37 boys under Magpies Head Coach Shaun Prescott and comprised a number of net sessions at Cricket Victoria Junction Oval, plus a range of presentations by guest presenters to further the boy’s knowledge across many areas that they previously haven’t been involved in.
Physioworks Health Group Director David Francis, club physiotherapist to the Camberwell Magpies, presented an interactive Q&A session to the group around injury prevention & management, including preparation & recovery to achieve optimum performance. With 25+ years as team physio to the Collingwood Football Club in the AFL, David shared his experiences in performance development of young athletes in an elite sports environment.
