Physioworks Health Group provided allied health care support to the Australian Over 60’s National Cricket Championships held last week in Melbourne

Over 330 senior cricketers donned the whites in playing games in and around Dandenong during the week. The championships attracted 30 teams from around Australia, playing in four divisions, with each team playing three games and then finals, with all players aged over 60.

Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre (WPPC) Physiotherapists Jordan Coleman and Chris Snell, along with Director Andrew Dalwood attended daily to provide some post game assessment and injury advice to the players. Said Andrew, “We had mix of sore Achilles and few sore bowling shoulders, but it was just great to see so many older men out being active and enjoying the sport and competition over the last few days”.

The Australian Over 60’s National Cricket Championships adds to Physioworks Health Group’s extensive experience and commitment to cricket, as our team provide health care services at both the local community level and elite level, including the Victorian Bushrangers, the Melbourne Renegades, the VCA Cricket Academy & the Camberwell Magpies Cricket Club.
