The Casey Basketball Association (CBA) has announced the new sponsor arrangement with the Physioworks Health Group as the exclusive sports physiotherapy and allied health care partner for the 2017 season.
Physioworks Director David Francis (FACP), said Physioworks Health Group provides expertise across a wide range of elite sporting environments (male and female); which also extends to local sporting leagues, such as the CBA, with a focus on encouraging participation as a key to local community health and well-being.
“Having serviced the local community for over 20 years with our clinics in Cranbourne, Pakenham and now with our new clinic in Berwick, Physioworks Health Group is delighted to provide our service expertise to meet the needs of the Casey Basketball Association, it’s elite Cavalier squads, players, coaches and the wider local CBA community, with our range of specialized services from physiotherapy and sports injury management to sports massage & performance assessments”, said David.
After a recent review with Cavalier coaches, selected players in the elite CBA male and female squads will have Performance Screening & Assessments conducted by our Sports Physiotherapists at Physioworks Berwick clinic.
David Francis commented “The Performance Assessment helps identify existing & potential body movement issues which may affect performance. An individual action plan is then set – with the player, coaches, trainers & our physio team – aimed at injury prevention & helping to ensure performance optimisation, not only for this year, but across the player’s future basketball career”.
A wider support aim of the partnership will be the education of the wider CBA community, regarding health, well-being, injury prevention and injury management with educational talks to relevant playing squad, coaches and parents; plus our physiotherapists being on-site at selective training sessions.
